District News & Information
Board of Education Unanimously Approves 5 Year Strategic Plan
The Board of Education unanimously approved a five year strategic plan focused on continuing the district's path toward excellence and being on the leading edge of integrating technology into student learning and teacher instruction.  The plan includes a 1 to 1 Technology Learning Initiative for students in grades 7-12 that will put an iPad in each student's hands throughout the school year, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, starting in 2012-13.  Elementary schools will also see an increase in technology available in the classroom in 2012-13 with carts of 24 iPads at each grade level.  Over time, this initiative will be more than every student having a tool to use in school, it will transform the way teachers teach and students learn.  To learn more about the district's strategic plan and Technology Learning Initiative, please click here.

Kindergarten Entrance Age Changes for 2012-13
The Nebraska Legislature passed LB 1006 during the 2011 session, which revises the age requirements for students entering kindergarten starting in the 2012-2013 school year. To be eligible for enrollment in kindergarten for 2012-13, a child must have reached his or her fifth birthday on or before July 31, 2012.  However, students who turn five after July 31, 2012 and before October 16, 2012 are eligible to request early entrance into kindergarten.  To learn more, click here.
